Great interview with Chanel. I remember watching the white house press briefings and wondered why she was always in back. Great story on Ukraine. I am impressed. I am a retired Fortune 500, DOD and DOS Internal Audit Manager and anti-corruption manager (Iraq, AFG). As a former Journalism major, Respect to Chanel.

Regarding Chanel's comment about lack of interest in the press about foreign policy, I agree. During Trump's first term I watched the white house press briefing, but also the State Dept briefing which WAS about foreign issues. I had worked for both DOD and State when in Iraq, so that was where the news was.

Chanel Rion should be over the White House Press Corp. Lying from the news media and individual journalists should be a disqualifier from membership. Placement could be regained with public apologies regarding specific untruths that were reported. An example would be a PBS reporter who has reported lies. Neither she or her organization would be permitted in the corp unless she apologizes for specific untrue and malicious stories. If she decides to quit her network over it, the network would be required to do a segment on their air to apologize for the reporting.
