Ghost towns, waterfalls & hidden valleys | Winter Cabin Series - Jasper National Park

Spring has finally arrived which leads us to the last of the winter cabin series for 2024 but this video may be the most jammed packed one of the entire series. We get some shoulder season hiking around the old remnants of the town of Pocahontas, around the frozen Punchbowl Falls, inside the drainage channel leading up to Miette Creek & all the way to the summit of the Hidden Valley Trail.

In April snow prevents most hikers from getting too far into the mountain but doing day hiking on the outskirts of the mountain range allows us to get quite a bit of activities even with the snow. This time of year is also the least popular hence getting cabins accommodations makes it a lot easier than in the middle of summer. This is why we stayed at the Miette Mountain Cabins during our adventures in the area. This amazing property is owned by Pursuit and they've upgraded it to accommodate anyone wanting to stay in Jasper National Park. We stayed in one of the single story cabins & got to enjoy their entire cabin court to ourselves; hot tubs, barbecue & fire-pits!
