This time we’re going to conclude my commentary on Harry Ironsides book “Wrongly Dividing the Word of Truth". While we certainly should express our faith by physically doing good. Physical demonstrations or manifestations of faith are not required, and it should never be implied that they are. But we certainly should do good works. What are good works? We’ll look at that. And regarding obedience. Telling a Christian he needs to get circumcised in order to show obedience by following Jesus would be wrong. Even if you insist that getting circumcised is not required for salvation, but only to prove your obedience to Jesus. But does that mean obedience to Jesus’ multiple commands to keep the law? There are a lot of those: Mat 5:23, 8:4, 15:3, 19:17, 8:4, 23:2-3, 23:23 Mar 1:44, 7:8-9, 10:3, 12:29-31, Luke 5:14,10:26, Jn 7:23-24, 15:14.
