On July 5th, 2022, a patrolling officer observed a Silver Kia travelling at a high rate of speed without a licence plate. As the officer approached the vehicle to attempt a traffic stop, it began to swerve and almost struck a parked vehicle after which the car came to a stop. The backseat passenger was acting erratic and handed the officer a receipt for a firearm. He then showed the gun which was tucked in the pouch in front of his seat. Upon exiting the vehicle, a .45 round fell from the male's possession. The firearm was secured from the seat pouch and after detaining the male, the officers determined that the vehicle was unregistered and proceeded to interrogate the driver. The female driver was very uncooperative. She called the officers "Cracker" and continued to resist while she was being arrested. The officers then informed the male of his charges and proceeded to arrest him too. The officers finally learned of the real relationship between the occupants after the third passenger revealed it to them. The 20-year-old female was charged with resisting arrest and driving an unregistered vehicle while the male was charged with carrying a concealed weapon.
