Burn: New Beginnings (part 10)

*After two years in their underground laboratory, and only discovering a serum that is now gone thanks to Traul injecting it into himself to survive, Burn and Gabriella have no clue what to do next. Keeping Reign protected is their top priority but Burn barely got them to safety with any supplies. Most of his own combat gear is gone, any other survivor from the lab has scattered and can't be found, and after one week Burn has only one pistol and very few rounds left to use to defend them. It is then that Burn leaves Gabriella and Reign behind in what he hopes is the safest of ruined warehouses in Downton London before he goes out to try and scavenger up something. And though he does have quick success, finding new tactical gear and a rifle off of what remains of some destroyed military convoy, his departure is a huge mistake. Something has been slowly approaching. Something terribly evil felt when Gabriella and Reign stepped back onto the surface and at last it has found them. It is the First High Devoted, Xo Wu, the one most attune to the Old One. Because of Wu the Old One has finally entered Earth's orbit but has not yet touched down proper. Wu has done his duty, listening to his new master and calling him home and only asking in return that his family be allowed to be servants of the Old One as well. Agreeing to this smallest of requests, the Old One lets Wu search and find Reign. Trauls serum failed spectacularly, though it did not make him a High Devoted like his father it still twisted him into a servant of the Old One so Wu searching for him is unnecessary. Wu only wants Reign and he moves in with Burn gone. But Burn returns just in time, halfway changing into his new gear, yet with his new rifle already prepared and ready for war, he hears Gabriella screaming and rushes in with bullets flying. Somehow one even hits its mark, striking Wu in one electric blue eye and causing all his blue to gush everywhere. Burn becomes the only man to ever destroy a High Devoted, Wu soon screaming as blue melts off his entire body before he explodes out in a wave of blue as the Old One, somewhere, screams in rage as well*
