Should I have stayed away from this Rare Bird.

I dont usually go in search of one-off rare birds, but when a Hoopoe turned up less than 20 miles from home, I had to make a decision. I dont see the point in chasing a tired bird around if its stressed and exhausted from a long flight, but from photos I could see that this one looked healthy, it seemed to be very comfortable with people standing nearby and was feeding very well. So I popped over to see it, and here is the footage I managed to get.
