It is interesting that Sodom (the city we all know is later destroyed by God) was once an ally of Abram (who was in with God).

Was it just circumstantial -- Abram just doing the expedient thing to save Lot?

It's also interesting that Abram refused any recompense from the King of Sodom...

Was he trying to limit his relationship to that city? Keep them at arms length because it was a den of iniquity?
