Jesus’ Birth

Each December, millions celebrate the birth of Jesus on December 25th—but is that really when He was born? The Bible offers compelling evidence pointing to a different time of year. By examining the story of Zacharias, John the Baptist's father, we can uncover key clues. Zacharias served in the temple during the course of Abijah, the eighth priestly division, which took place in the 10th week of the Jewish calendar (mid-June). Shortly after his service, Elizabeth conceived John. Six months into her pregnancy, Mary was told she would conceive Jesus, placing His conception around December and His birth in mid to late September.

Why does this matter? The Bible intentionally leaves out a specific date for Jesus' birth, instead focusing on His life, His message, and the transformative power of His sacrifice. Understanding these biblical insights helps us worship in spirit and truth, steering away from traditions rooted in man-made customs.
