Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu vowed to act "forcefully" against Yemen's Houthis, saying the the U.S. and other countries already considered the group a "threat to the international order.”

“Just as we acted forcefully against the terrorist arms of Iran's axis of evil, so we will act against the Houthis,” said Netanyahu on Sunday.

The Houthis have increasingly targeted Israel with drones and missiles, resulting in retaliatory Israeli airstrikes since the Israel-Hamas war in the Gaza Strip started in October 2023 after Hamas’ surprise attack on Israel that killed 1,200 people and saw 250 others taken hostage.
