My visit to the NBC Fred de Cordova produced Tonight Show. Great Music performed.

I personally met both Johnny Carson and Doc Severinson at the NBC Burbank Studios on Thursday afternoon July 30, 1981. That show’s taping of the Johnny Carson Monologue bombed, nobody laughed, sadly it was based on the unfunny Royal Wedding of Princess Diana & Prince Charles from the day before. Johnny Carson, cursed as we went to commercial and apologized to the studio audience.

Doc Severinson saved the show with his class and terrific Orchestra deceptively dubbed the NBC Tonight Show Orchestra. Doc’s Band was the class act of the Show.

Ed McMahan was also very funny and professional. Ed warned up the audience before the show begins.

Executive producer Freddie de Cordova was the Arts & Repertoire Rep for Ronald Reagan from 1950 on. Lew Wasserman of Warner Brothers was the former A&R Rep of Ronald Reagan.
