This place keeps artifacts that reflect the culture and history of nation building and defense of the Vietnamese people from the early days of enlightenment to the birth of the Democratic Republic of Vietnam.
The mission of the museum is to research, collect, inventory, display, propagate and introduce documents and historical, cultural artifacts with scientific values, reflecting the process of construction, fighting, growth of the Army in the process of national liberation, construction and defense of the nation.
The museum has an oriental architectural style. The museum's gallery is about 2000m^2 wide, divided into several spaces for themed tours and historical chronological order.
The exhibition system of the History Museum consists of four key parts:
・Part One: Prehistoric Era of Vietnam
・Part Two: From the time of building the first country to the Qin dynasty
・Part Three: Vietnam from the Ho Dynasty to the August Revolution in 1945
・Part Four: Cham Pa stone sculpture collection gallery

Here you can see the largest bomb in Vietnam and hundreds of other types of bombs, mines and explosives. Bombs weighing from over 100 kg to nearly 7 tons are arranged in the shape of a "B-52 super fortress" in the center of the museum.
