Abusive Spitting Girlfriend Gets Well Deserved Ride to Jail

On April 15, 2023, officers from the Des Moines Police Department were dispatched to a disturbance call in which a man reported that during an argument with his girlfriend, she had physically attacked him. The man claimed that she had punched him multiple times and spat on him.

The woman was arrested at the scene and subsequently transported to the Polk County Jail, where she was formally charged with domestic abuse and assault on a peace officer. The assault charge, however, did not appear on the bodycam footage from the initial interaction, suggesting that it occurred during her time inside the jail. While the footage captured the events leading up to her arrest, the additional charge for assault on a peace officer was likely a result of her behavior once in custody.
