MUFASA Has Worse Domestic Opening Than THE MARVELS

Mufasa: The Lion King suffered an embarrassing domestic opening by bringing in less money than The Marvels despite ending in the number two spot.

Disney is still trying to claim victory by pointing out it is the number one movie in the world, of course this is likely because Sonic the Hedgehog 3 isn’t opening over seas until Christmas Day. Also, the global haul for Mufasa: The Lion King is less than the domestic opening for 2019’s The Lion King. We will see whether or not Mufasa has a rebound on Christmas Day and the following weekend, but it seems evident this movie will not make nearly as much as the previous one. However, given the production budget this movie may struggle to turn a profit for Disney.
