As a disclaimer, I am not Syrian, nor am I from West Asia, what I am is a person who lived thru the 911 attacks and the subsequent uproar about dangerous terrorists who were spreading their jihadist murderous insane rhetoric around the globe and how the US and its allies were either with them or with the terrorists.
