Shepherd Bible Church Special December 22 "O Holy Night"

Our choir blessed us by singing "O Holy Night." This sacred song has an unusual history. It started life in the imagination of French poet Placide Cappeau in 1847. Immediately after it was written, it was set to music by Adolphe Adam. Instantly popular as a Christmas song, it was translated to English by an American music critic and minister John Sullivan Dwight in 1855. He made minor changes in the words and music. We enjoyed it today as different choir members sang different parts.
