Christ is Born

Christmas is a time for celebration. To celebrate the greatest birth the world has ever seen or experienced, the birth of Jesus the Christ. It is also a time to relax, to get off of work. For time to spend with family and friends. It is a time to show people kindness and love. It is a time for reflection of the past year and the events of the year. Some are more memorable than others and then some more forgettable. In every case our memories can be used as a guide and lessons learned into the coming year.

Unfortunately, it is also a time of sorrow for those who have suffered loss. Loss of loved ones, friends and coworkers. Maybe a loss of a home, a job. Loss comes to each one of us in many different ways with each of us handling loss in our own way.

In all of these circumstances there is a big God out there that will provide for us. That will protect us, heal us, give us peace, hope and comfort us during both our times of sorrow and joy. God gave His son to be the mediator between man and God. A path to our salvation, to live in heaven so that we may never feel pain or sorrow again. God’s ultimate plan before the world was created is to give His son Jesus as a gift to the world. To pay for the sins of mankind. To give us peace, happiness, joy, purpose and love plus much more.

The angel visited Mary one day and she was told that she would be given a son who was conceived from the Holy Spirit. Jesus is born of a virgin birth to show the world that He was not born of sin nor through sin. Jesus is sinless. He is the only one who can make and prove that claim.

The birth of Jesus is the beginning of a ministry that has changed millions of lives throughout time. Through His ministry many have chosen to give our lives to Christ, to receive Jesus as our Lord and Savior and to serve Him for the rest of our days. To share the good news of who Jesus is, how He has changed our lives, what He really means to each one of us. Our testimony of who Jesus is very important to God and should be equally important to you and me because where we spend our eternal life, that destiny matters to God.

Again, Christmas is a time for celebration, but what we are celebrating is the birth, life, death and resurrection of Jesus Christ. There is no other gift that we could receive that matches what God has given to us. There is no amount of alcohol, drugs, sexual immorality that can replace the gift from God. God knows your heart, He knows your circumstance, He knows your pain, your loss and He knows your life from the beginning to the end.

The Three Persons of the Trinity, God the Father, God the Son, God the Holy Spirit, are there for you. God will never leave you nor forsake you. God is with you from the beginning to the end and is waiting for you to respond accordingly (positively to receive Him) so you may become the godly person that He has created while reverencing Him for the rest of your days.

My prayer for each one of us is that we all would put Christmas in the proper perspective. To emphasize the importance of Christmas centered on God, Jesus and the Holy Spirit. To be more thoughtful to others and take opportunity to heal and mend relationships. To let Jesus guide you through the healing process. I pray that your relationship and love for God grow exponentially. That you would, through the power of the Lord Jesus Christ break the bondage that the world has on you. I pray that you find comfort in God and Jesus that His peace fall upon you and your family and this will truly be a time of celebration in Jesus Christ and the gift that God has given to you. In Jesus Mighty Name I pray this Amen! Amen!
