Democrats are trying to figure out how we can salvage the disaster that has been thrust upon us.

Erick Gaugherty: We had many weeks of negotiations with Republicans.
We reached a bipartisan legislative compromise.
Senate Democrats, Senate Republicans,
House Democrats, House Republicans, all agreed.

And then it was ruined by Elon Musk, who apparently has become the fourth branch of government.
And that's just an intolerable way to proceed under a representative democracy.
So, Democrats are trying to figure out how we can save the public good from the disaster that has been thrust upon us.
