Drive-Thru Grocery Store Could Revolutionize Industry

Shoppers could soon be able to buy their groceries without even getting out of the car, if plans for a drive-through supermarket materialise.

Russian inventor Semenov Dahir Kurmanbievich has filed a patent for the supermarket, with the intention of speeding up the shopping process for time-pressed customers.

The system would work in a similar way to a petrol station, but instead of customers driving up to a pump, they would be presented with a column of vertically rotating shelves, operated by button and stocked with goods from which to select.

Their chosen items would then immediately be transferred onto a conveyor belt and moved along to a checkout where the shopper can drive forward and pay for it all.
