Modern appliances blow goats.

They really do.

Enormous, bulky, power-hungry appliances from the 1970s might have been a drain on the electrical grid, and punched holes in the ozone layer, but damn… they had lasting power.

Now?

Now we buy things in order to replace them a few years later.

They’re touted as having computer chips, and sensors, and bells and whistles aplenty, but what good is that if a repair guy can’t fix an error code? What good is a new appliance that doesn’t last?

Bah.
