The U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) has confirmed precision airstrikes targeting Iran-backed Houthi forces in Yemen. According to a statement released on X, CENTCOM struck a missile storage facility and a command-and-control center located in Houthi-controlled territory, including areas in Yemen's capital.

The operation aimed to disrupt and degrade Houthi activities, which have included attacks on U.S. Navy warships and merchant vessels in the Red Sea and the Gulf of Aden. U.S. Air Force and Navy assets, including F/A-18 aircraft, were involved in the mission. CENTCOM reports that multiple Houthi drones and an anti-ship cruise missile were also intercepted over the Red Sea during the operation.

These airstrikes come amid escalating tensions. Overnight, a rocket launched from Yemen struck an area near Tel Aviv, injuring 16 people. This follows a series of back-and-forth attacks between Israel and the Houthis, including Israeli airstrikes on Houthi-controlled regions in Yemen earlier this week.

We will continue to monitor this developing situation and bring you updates as they unfold.
