Living with us in mega-cities or in small villages, on the sea, in the desert and even in space or on the North Pole, they march along, leaving 4 paw traces, our friends - dogs. They are glorified in legends since days ancient as being more faithful than people and remain close in perilous times. There are volumes of poems inspired by and devoted to them, monuments erected in their remembrance and the never-fading memories we cherish of growing up with our first dog.

In ancient times, dogs helped our ancestors hunt for mammoth and toothed tigers. Dog teams bare the credit naturalists, geologists and other adventure-seekers ventured into expeditions and conquest of the Arctic and Antarctic. In the world of today, many dogs live a comfortable couch life next to their beloved owners and we are grateful to them for the company.

Among other things, people love to show off their pets. They are treated as stars, as cute toy creatures that give one joy, or even ugly, but ridiculously funny pets. Pets are, and this is a fact, one of the top-5 keyword searches on the Internet.

If you search long enough, you’ll encounter many weird dog videos. Some are extremely funny while others will break your heart, but here is one that will totally make you want to enter your device’s screen and hug this adorable Corgi. But first, let’s explain the reasoning behind this phenomenon.

Back in October 2016, the New York City Subway banned big dogs in the trains. Their reasoning behind this is that it will feel safer for the other travelers, but it is safe to say that New York citizens weren’t so pleased with this decision. The only exception to the rule were the smaller dogs which could fit into bags. Now, New Yorkers wouldn’t be New Yorkers if they didn’t fight this ban tooth and claws. It seems that the ban didn’t deter them from traveling with their beloved pets, but they took on a smart approach.

Since the only pets that could be carried through the Subway tunnels were the ones small enough to fit in a bag, New Yorkers made it their mission to boost the bigger bags production. Suddenly, you could see people hauling huge bags and totes around, strong enough to fit their Huskies and Labs. We’re not sure about Great Danes and Pit Bulls, but we’re pretty sure that somewhere in the dark corners of the world wide web, we could find evidence of such an ordeal. They used everything from sport bags, to shopping bags to even the famous blue IKEA shopping bag. Basically, they used anything sturdy they could get their hands on.

This following footage was filmed on July 20, 2018 in New York, New York, USA and this is what the licensor had to say about it: "The video is of an adorable fluffy Corgi in his owners backpack riding the subway. It was filmed while riding the 1 train uptown at the end of the day."
