I have tested plenty of true wireless earbuds before and at last here is a set with some new features. These buds are designed to be worn as an aid to sleep by helping to reduce outside noise and by their sleep friendly design.

In the box you receive the earbuds with a set of medium gels installed, two further gel sets in different sizes, a standard USB-C charging cable, and a well written and easy to read user guide. The presentation is OK but not particularly lavish for what is otherwise an upmarket and specialised item. The build quality, on the other hand, is excellent. The buds are finished in a soft silicone gel coating which is pleasant to the touch and in the ear. The buds and case both have a distinctly high-end feel to them and are a step up from the usual run-of-the-mill earbuds.

Charging is the same as with most other headsets, just insert the 35 mAh buds into the case and they will begin charging. To charge the 250 mAh case battery, plug into any standard USB power source using the USB-C port on the base. A one hour charge should give approximately six hours of music time from the buds and a total run time of twenty one hours for the case.

Pairing these Bluetooth 5.3 buds could not be easier. On first removal from the case, they will enter pairing mode, just select them by name from the Bluetooth settings page on your phone or tablet and they will connect. Next time the pairing will take place automatically.

These earbuds are sold as being sleep friendly and sleep inducing and this is due to their slimline design and snug fitting. These buds are far smaller and slimmer than any others I have tested and once they are fitted into the ear - just insert and rotate until the silicone wing slots securely inside the ear. Once in place, the buds are housed inside the ear itself and you can comfortably sleep on your side with no discount from the buds, unlike with normal and larger rivals. This means you can simply start your music or sleep aid sounds safe in the knowledge that you will not wake up with a sore ear.

I was not hoping for too much as regards sound quality from this headset, I was expecting that to be sacrificed to achieve the small form factor. But no, in fact, the audio quality is very much better than average, with clear and well defined mid tones, a high end that is neither sharp nor sibilant and bass levels far richer and deeper than I was expecting. All the standard touch button features can be found with these headphones including track and volume control as well as call handling. Test calls, indeed, have been fine, with clear audio on both ends of the conversation. If you need to reset the buds at any time, just tap either bud five times in rapid succession.

Currently priced at £39.99 before discounts - yes, there are always discounts - this true wireless headset is not the cheapest out there, but the unusual design as well as the above average sound quality make them an attractive buy, especially for those with sleep issues.
