Complex generics, drugs for auto-immune disorders, anti-cancer, anti-retroviral, orphan drugs and many other high-value drugs are being manufactured in India under the Union government’s Production Linked Incentive (PLI) scheme.

According to the standing committee report on chemicals and fertilisers presented in Lok Sabha, the scheme has received almost double the promised amount, hitting Rs 33,344.66 crore compared to the committed amount of Rs 17,275 crore.
