A 1940s Christmas

Life in the 1940s was complicated by World War II, yet it was simpler in some ways because friends and family took priority for most families. Here I have drawn together some Christmas music from the 1940s (and a bit from the 1930s and 1950s), as well as a news report from a Christmas eve during the war. Actual home movies made at that time provide a glimpse at family life for both adults and children. You might even find a bit of politics as well, although I have tried to keep it non-partisan.
