Episode 2793: The Mystery of God’s Will - Nightly Episode
“O my God, at the end of this day I thank You most heartily for all the graces I have received from You. I am sorry that I have not made better use of them. I am sorry for all the sins I have committed against You. Forgive me, O my God, and graciously protect me this night. Blessed Virgin Mary, my dear heavenly mother, take me under your protection. St. Joseph, my dear Guardian Angel, and all you saints of God, pray for me. Sweet Jesus, have pity on all poor sinners, and save them from hell. Have mercy on the suffering souls in purgatory. Amen.”
The Mystery of God’s Will in the Incarnation

Introduction
Welcome to today’s episode, where we reflect on the profound mystery of the Incarnation and our call to holiness through surrender to God’s will. St. Augustine, with his rich theological insights, leads us to marvel at the humility and love of God:
“Him whom the heavens cannot contain, the womb of one woman bore. She ruled our Ruler; she carried Him in whom we are; she gave milk to our Bread.”
This mystery calls us to awe and gratitude. At the same time, St. Thérèse of Lisieux reminds us that our response to this gift is found in simplicity and fidelity:
“Perfection consists in doing God’s will, in being what He wills us to be.”
Tonight, we will explore how the Blessed Virgin Mary exemplifies perfect conformity to God’s will and how her example calls us to embrace our vocation as participants in the redemptive mission of Christ.

Segment 1: The Majesty of the Incarnation
The Incarnation is the most profound act of humility in human history. The Creator of the universe chose to become a helpless child, born into the womb of a humble virgin. St. Augustine captures this beautifully:
"Him whom the heavens cannot contain, the womb of one woman bore."
Consider this: the God who spoke the universe into existence confined Himself to the womb of the Blessed Virgin Mary. The One who rules all creation became subject to His Mother. This truth is not only a cause for wonder but also a call to imitate the humility of Christ. If He, who is infinite, could lower Himself in such a way, how much more should we surrender our pride and submit to God’s will?

Segment 2: The Fiat of Mary and Doing God’s Will
Mary’s “Fiat” her “yes” to God was the perfect response to His divine plan. She embraced the mystery of the Incarnation with complete trust, even though she could not fully comprehend it. Her life exemplifies St. Thérèse’s teaching:
"Perfection consists in doing God’s will, in being what He wills us to be."
For Mary, this meant becoming the Mother of God. For us, it may mean smaller acts of obedience in our daily lives, but the principle is the same. Holiness is not about grand gestures or extraordinary deeds; it is about fidelity to God’s will in the ordinary circumstances of life. As St. Thérèse reminds us, perfection lies in simply being what God calls us to be.

Segment 3: The Eucharist and the Mystery of God’s Will
St. Augustine’s reflection on Mary feeding the Bread of Life also draws us to the Eucharist. He writes:
"She gave milk to our Bread."
In the Eucharist, Christ, who was nurtured by Mary, continues to nourish us. This sacrament is both a reminder of His humility and a means by which we are strengthened to do His will. When we receive the Eucharist, we are united with the same Christ who dwelt in Mary’s womb, giving us the grace to align our will with God’s and to persevere in holiness.

Segment 4: Practical Applications
1. Embrace Humility: Follow the example of Christ and Mary by seeking God’s will in your life, no matter how small or hidden your role may seem.
2. Daily Surrender: Begin each day with a prayer of surrender, offering your actions, thoughts, and desires to God.
3. Frequent the Sacraments: Let the Eucharist and Confession be your sources of strength as you strive to do God’s will.
4. Imitate Mary: Reflect on Mary’s Fiat and ask her intercession to help you say “yes” to God in all things.

Conclusion
As we meditate on the Incarnation and the call to holiness, let us remember that perfection is not about achieving worldly success but about faithfully responding to God’s will. Through the example of Mary and the teaching of saints like St. Thérèse and St. Augustine, we are reminded that the path to sanctity is one of humility, trust, and surrender.
Let us now conclude with a prayer.

Conclusion Prayer
Heavenly Father,
We marvel at the mystery of the Incarnation, that You, whom the heavens cannot contain, chose to dwell among us. We thank You for the gift of the Blessed Virgin Mary, whose “yes” to Your will brought forth our Savior.
Grant us the grace to imitate her humility and trust, to embrace Your will in all things, and to find our perfection in being what You call us to be. Strengthen us through the Eucharist, that we may walk faithfully in the path of holiness and one day behold You face to face.
Through the intercession of Mary, our Mother, and in the name of Your Son, Jesus Christ, we pray.
Amen.
