Born in Lubbock, Texas, and raised in Oklahoma, I consider myself an Okie. I have been in politics for most of my adult life and was elected to the Oklahoma House of Representatives from 1986 to 1998 and again from 2006 to 2012. The first tenure as a member of the minority and the second tenure as a member of the majority party. This gave me a unique perspective on how legislative bodies actually work, particularly behind the scenes.

Serving in the legislature during times when the political winds kept changing, I got an exclusive peek behind the curtain of governance, and the power plays that come with it. No matter who was in charge, Democrats or Republicans, I saw the same worrying patterns: the tug-of-war for power and the corruption that often goes with it. These weren’t just one-off incidents but part of a bigger, more troubling picture that went beyond party ideologies. I realized the real issue was with the nature of political power itself.

For as long as I can remember, I have always been a seeker of truth and fascinated by the unexplained and the unknown. Unfortunately, what I did not know and was unaware of would come back to haunt me. For decades, I was not fully aware that I was self sabotaging and did not know why I was not getting the results that I really wanted in life. The truth was that my self-esteem was very low for a large portion of my life, and deep down, I did not believe that I truly deserved the good things in life. As someone that was an expert level self-saboteur, I know what it takes to reprogram self-defeating beliefs and it is my intention to assist others on their own healing journey towards truth, self-love and true freedom. The knowledge of how I was my own worst enemy and the process to change that has been life changing. Coincidentally, this knowledge has led to me realizing that my mission was to become a freedom from self-sabotage coach. As having been a single parent of a special needs child and a survivor of Narcissistic Personality Disorder Abuse, I understand how life can be a struggle.
