Yet, CH 15 began with a word of hope, well at least to the new generation, those who are 20 years old and younger.When you come into your dwelling land. What follows is for the new generation in the new land. And this is the LORD speaking.The LORD is still going to bring them into the promise land, in HIS timing.
EXO 20:9-10, Six days you shall labor and do all your work, but the seventh day is a sabbath to the LORD your GOD. On it you shall not do any work, neither you, nor your son or daughter, nor your male or female servant, nor your animals, nor any foreigner residing in your towns.
EXO 31:14, Observe the Sabbath, because it is holy to you. Anyone who desecrates it is to be put to death; those who do any work on that day must be cut off from their people.EXO 35:3, Do not light a fire in any of your dwellings on the Sabbath day.
There had been challenges to Moses’ leadership in Ch’s 11-14, so now we see there are challenges to Aaron’s leadership as the High Priest. Both Moses and Aaron had been selected, elected not by the people of GOD, but by GOD HIMself.
In these verses there are two groups of rebels introduced. This was an intentional planned action, rather than some accidental thing.
