When you get born as a cow you get to live on a beautiful farm. You get to live your days in a lush, green pasture that borders on a country road. “The cows”, or using your vocabulary - mom and all her sisters and kids, have access to a nice pond for drinking and for cooling off in. You get to share this pasture with a herd of cows and some newborn calves. Flo delivered a calf herself but it was born on a slope between the pond and the fence. It slid down and under the fence, becoming trapped outside the field. It's not clear how long the calf was lying there, but the fresh umbilical cord showed that it had been born that day. It was also dry, which suggested that it had been lying in the sun for a little while. The calf may have tried to get back to its mother but the electric fence made this impossible.

Oliver is a Miniature Jersey Steer and he was born May 31st, 2017. The filmer rescued the steer from going to Auction and ending up on someone's plate. Being promoted to a yard pet, he has become a very spoiled, charismatic and loving companion. When the owners are working in the pasture he always has to be right with them, getting all inquisitive and curious of what is going about. He is always knocking things over, licking things to see if they are eatable. Jobs or chores they do in his pasture takes twice as long because the poor folks just have to deal with his antics. This particular video was taken as the owner tried to finish the deck railing, and Oliver wanted attention and was determined to aggravate his daddy until he got some.
