Pizza isn’t magical to tired employees. But, what is?

When hourly employees have been working overtime for weeks and haven’t seen their families… bringing in free pizza isn’t going to make things OK.

You as a leader need to SHOW with actions that match your words that your people matter most! If you fail at this, then the price you pay may be a steep one.

Don’t act surprised when employees:

– Slow their work to “half-speed” (which doubles your labor costs).
– Quit (which increases your recruiting and training costs).
– Welcome a union with open arms.

Do UNEXPECTED things they’ll appreciate that will make them feel acknowledged and valued. (Hint: Pizza isn’t enough.)
