Weatherford Domestic Disturbance Ends with Suspect Shot, Family Safe.

On December 14th, 2024, at 2:01 a.m., the Weatherford Police Department received a 9-1-1 call from a female, reporting that she had been assaulted by an intoxicated individual. While officers were on their way to the call, the male suspect called 9-1-1 and made threats to the responding officers. There were two young children inside the home at the time of the incident. Upon arrival, officers could hear yelling coming from the second-story apartment. Dispatchers continue to relay information to the officers as they made their approach.

The responding officer carefully encouraged the child to come outside to safety. The mother holding the youngest child followed the 9-year-old outside of the apartment. Officers then helped them get downstairs safely and continued the investigation. The suspect appeared pointing a 9mm handgun towards the officers from inside the apartment and did not comply with officer's orders to drop the weapon. Officers shot the suspect and provided medical aid before transporting to Fort Worth, where he is still receiving medical care. Neither officers or the victims were injured during this incident.
