Men Boxing (1891) is an experimental silent film created during the early tests of the Edison-Dickson-Heise horizontal-feed kinetograph camera. This short film, lasting approximately 20 seconds, captures two men engaging in a boxing match. Shot in May or June of 1891 in the Photographic Building at Thomas Edison's laboratory in West Orange, New Jersey, it represents one of the earliest examples of motion picture technology. The film was produced and directed by W.K.L. Dickson and William Heise under the auspices of Thomas A. Edison, Inc. As part of the Edison Collection housed in the Library of Congress, this short, looped footage exemplifies the groundbreaking innovation that marked the birth of cinema.
