As the Christmas season approaches, I began to wonder where our current Christmas traditions came from. Most would tie Christmas to the winter celebration of Saturnalia from Roman Times. However, in my research I stumbled across a man who, after pioneering American politics and commerce in the late 19th century, and creating one of the most integral secret societies in American History, he then, almost single-handedly, brought forth the concept of Santa Claus, based off the Dutch Sinterklaas. Today we will look to peal back the veil over this history, revealing the true nature of the creation of one of the most famous fictional characters of Christmas. Thank you for the overwhelming outcry of support on the previous video. I would be remiss to mention that I could use your prayers at this very difficult moment in my life. I’m continuing to fight the good fight, keeping my head above water, focusing on the things that I can control. Creating these videos for you is one of the best ways I know to reframe my loss into something positive. Enjoy, and Merry Christmas!
