My sister called me early this afternoon and told me that there was a terrible multi car crash around the corner from my folks place in La Palma. She asked me to fly my drone over to the site since traffic has been being diverted on the corners of La Palma Ave & Moody Street. I tried to fly in from my place in Buena Park but had some remote control signal issues and had to turn out and fly back home.

I grabbed my gear had to get to my folks place from the back route from Crescent and Moody before the traffic was blocked on on Windsong. I flew from my parents front yard and came from La Palma Ave. Lots of La Palma PD on the scene. I did my best to stay out the way. I approached at about 100 ft altitude and dropped down to about 45 ft for a bit when I was sure there were no obstructions in my flight path. At the time, there were no details about what had happened. About the time I flew back and landed to my home position, the police first helicopter showed up. A second helicopter arrived and finally what turns out was the NBC 4 News Chopper 4. I got the news story as soon as I got home from my sister. News was that 1 killed in multi-vehicle crash following chase in La Palma. It turns out that a woman in her 60's was killed following a pursuit that ended in La Palma. The pursuit of a man accused of a theft at an Albertsons store in Fullerton. That instigated the chase. The suspect struck another vehicle and continued to flee. Police lost the suspect on the 91 Freeway. Law eforcement spotted the suspect vehicle on surface streets in La Palma where this monster crashed into 3 more vehicles on the corner of La Palma & Moody. The woman who was in her 60's died of her injuries at the scene. The details I got from the original NBC 4 story by Karla Rendon. I will omit my opinion of what should happen to this suspect but it's tragic how one inconsiderate soul and cause so much carnage and tragedy. My folks are elderly and these are the streets they drive to go to the grocery store. I have driven through this intercection since my folks bought their house over 50 years ago. My prayers are for the woman who was killed there today and her family.
