Police in Aurora, Colorado said Tuesday they apprehended 14 suspected gang members overnight following reports of a home invasion at a local apartment complex.

Aurora Police Department Chief Todd Chamberlain told reporters that officers responded to The Edge at Lowry Apartments after two residents were “accosted” by several individuals. That complex is notably the same site which some claimed in September was taken over by armed Venezuelan gang members.

The two residents were taken to a different nearby apartment and bound against their will, according to Chamberlain. He said the victims were “terrorized" and the aggressors then burglarized the apartment belonging to the victims.

"They were pistol-whipped, they were beat, they were mistreated," Chamberlan said. "So does that fall in the category of torture for me? Yeah, it does."
