Why would Iran give up its WMD (assuming that it has any) given what happaned to other states that gave up their WMD? Iraq gave up its WMD--and the US launched a regime-change operation against it. Libya gave up its WMD--and the US launched a regime-change operation against it. Why expect a different result with Iran?
Also, remember that Wesley Clark was told about a US plan to regime-change seven states in five years, and only one of those states have not yet been regime-changed: Iran.
