WATCH: LeBlanc blames $61.9B deficit on indigenous reconciliation

Newly appointed Dominic LeBlanc actually had an answer to what caused the deficit to inflate to a whopping $61.9 billion.

The Liberals repeatedly promised the deficit would not go beyond $41 billion, yet the Fall Economic Statement, released Monday, proved that was a lie.

Conservative deputy leader Melissa Lanstman demanded to know why the Liberals "misled Canadians again."

LeBlanc replied: "This is about righting historical wrongs with indigenous peoples."
