LIFE IS A GAME OF CHESS

A Game of Chess

We are pawns
We fight on the front line
We are disposable
Not one of a kind

The King and Queen stay behind
So do their rooks, bishops and knights
They all watch as the pawns fight

Slaughtered on the front line
No care in the world
Just the bottom line

It’s just a game of chess
As they bury the dead to rest

Blood and guts everywhere
They don’t care
As long as their plan executes
The King and Queen remain absolute

Now the pawns are destroyed
The next level of infantry is deployed
The King and Queen are now paranoid...

The battle is in full eclipse
The bishops use their ships
The knights fight
The rooks unite
Until all are dead but one..

The widowed King hides
He is in disguise
But there is nowhere to go

Check mate! Check mate!
It’s time for him to learn his fate

His money and power mean nothing
There has been a great divide
No more manipulation
No more commanding
No more greed
He will now know what it’s like to bleed

Life is just a game of chess
