The Bottlenose dolphins that were driven into the Cove yesterday were sorted out by the trainers of Taiji Whale Museum and Dolphin Base.
It’s not sure if there were already someone with white marks, but today several new ones were put on their backs. Hunters called it “cream”.
After the captive dolphins were transferred to Taiji harbor with the trainers, the hunters in skiffs began violently driving the pod into the shallows under tarps —— we found out that they were going to kill them. Then they started catching some of them again.
In the end, 2 captives were taken to sea-pens in the harbor and 5 were killed. And the remaining families including a calf were released.
The moment the nets was removed, a mother and her calf pair jumped out first, Kunito said. They were jumping high and headed offshore, and their numbers appeared to be fewer than we had anticipated yesterday. It was probably about 25-30 that were driven in.
I pray that those who lost 7 of their families and must have heard their screams will overcome the trauma that is too sad and survive safely.

To the Japanese people who love dolphin shows
This is the truth behind the aquariums/dolphinariums.
It is the Japanese who are subjecting wild dolphins that were simply migrating off the coast of Taiji to such terrible experiences.
They take several captives who can be sold for a high price, and kill their families. The profit from the dolphins being killed and used for meat is small, but on the other hand, they also claims to the public that it is hunting for food culture.
Currently, it seems that the sale of dolphins from Taiji to overseas has almost stopped. In other words, they are capturing dolphins alive for the aquariums in Japan.
The dolphins in aquariums are not rescued and kept in captivity. And they become mentally and physically ill from the terrible stress of captivity and can not live long.
Buying tickets to a dolphin show is the same as paying for the purchase of the next dolphins.
If you love dolphins, don’t you think you should understand this system correctly and take action to not cause them suffering?
In the international community, not only dolphin shows but also captivity itself are being banned one after another as they are considered inhumane and unethical.

昨日コーヴへ追い込まれたバンドウイルカたちが太地くじらの博物館とドルフィン・ベェイスのトレーナー達によって選別された。
既に白い印がつけられた個体がいたのかどうか定かではないが、今日新たに数頭が背中に白く塗られていた。猟師たちはそれを“クリーム”と呼んだ。
生け捕りにされたイルカがトレーナーたちと共に港へ運ばれた後、スキフに乗った猟師たちはタープ下の浅瀬へイルカたちを激しく追い込み始めた —- 彼らを殺すつもりだとわかった。その後、猟師たちは再び数頭を捕まえ始めた。
結局今日、2頭が生け捕りにされて港の生け簀へ運ばれ、5頭が殺された。そして幼い子どもを含む残った家族たちはリリースされた。
網が外された瞬間、母と子のペアが真っ先に飛び出したとクニト氏は言った。高く飛び跳ねながら沖へ向かった彼らのもとの総数は昨日予想したより少ないように見えた。追い込まれたのは25-30頭ぐらいだったのかもしれない。
家族7頭を失い、彼らの悲鳴を聞いたに違いない残されたイルカたちが、悲しすぎるトラウマを乗り越えて無事に生き抜くことを祈ります。

イルカショー愛好家の日本の人々へ
これが水族館の裏側に隠された真実です。
ただ太地沖を回遊していただけの野生のイルカたちをこんな酷い目に遭わせているのは日本人です。
高額で売れる数頭の捕虜を得て、家族を殺す。殺され食肉にされるイルカによる利益は少ないが、一方で食文化のための猟であるとの誇示にもなっている。
現在、太地から海外へのイルカの生体販売はほぼ止まっているようです。つまり彼らは日本国内の水族館のためにイルカを生け捕りにしているということ。
水族館のイルカたちは救助され飼育され続けているわけではないのです。そして彼らは飼育下のストレスから心身の病気になり、長くは生きられません。
イルカショーのチケットを買うことは、次なるイルカの購入費用を支払っているのと同義です。
もしイルカを好きならば、このしくみを正しく理解して彼らを苦しめない行動を取るべきだと思いませんか。
国際社会では、イルカショーはおろか飼育そのものが非人道的で非倫理的だと続々と禁止になっています。
