The DIVOC literary prize in Brussels: a hymn to cultural freedom
On Wednesday 4 December, at the European Parliament in Brussels, the DIVOC literary prize was presented, dedicated exclusively to writers who have not been vaccinated against Covid-19. Created by the Friulian writer and philosopher Emanuele Franz, the competition aims to enhance the talent of those who, during the pandemic restrictions, have suffered social and cultural exclusion.
The winner will see his or her work published by Audax Editrice and will receive a prestigious mosaic work by the artist Giulio Menossi. During the meeting, moderated by Andrea Meneghel, the Hon. Sergio Berlato and Emanuele Franz spoke, launching an invitation to reflect on the value of freedom in a Europe marked by the health crisis.
Now in its third edition, the award is now open to participants from all over the world in all languages of the world and supported by leading figures of Italian culture and politics, including Angelo Tonelli, Vittorio Sgarbi, Giorgio Agamben, Francesco Benozzo and Diego Fusaro.
