GUEST: “If I look at the big picture, it doesn’t look good. So I’m going to work on this line, I’m going to read this book, I’m going to talk to this friend, and keep it small.”

MAHER: “And the truth is, you’re probably going to be able to keep doing that no matter what’s going on out there in the world.

“Of course, the worst things could happen. Trump could get into office and blow up the world on day one.

“But you know, I’m not going through the same spiel I did last time. Like, when it happens, wake me, but I’m not giving my mind over to it again, and I’ll see what happens.

“And one thing I’ve learned about the future is that we’re very bad at predicting it, and whatever you think is probably likely to happen probably isn’t gonna happen.”
