If you thought math was complex, you haven’t read a single thing about the human body. It’s absolutely mind-boggling to even imagine how it works. There are a plethora of processes happening at the same time in your body and for most of them, you aren’t even aware what they serve for, let alone what might be the end result.

We don’t really know where to start. It seems that our bodies are created of even smaller particles than the ones we thought were the smallest, so let’s just keep our sanity intact and say that the human body is made out of atoms. Atoms were the building blocks that created all of the life that is living on this planet. They grouped and regrouped and created the complex chemical compounds that later were able to create the single cell organisms. These organisms thrived in the acid oceans on our planet and slowly developed the ability to split themselves into two exact copies of themselves allowing them to grow into the complex organisms that we are today.

There is an endless amount of cells in our bodies, each and every one of them able to perform different type of functions. Unlike the single cell organisms that were able to perform everything by themselves, cells nowadays have evolved to be specialized in a single function. They group into layers of tissue that later forms whole organs, which later group themselves to form a completely functioning organism.

The way the body works is that we introduce energy in the form of food. Different organs process the food and later spread it out to all of the other organs that actually need it. These organs waste the energy when performing tasks so it’s an ever evolving cycle of continuous energy. The moment some part of the body or the whole body itself is deprived of the energy, it dies. The brain gives the command to the glands in our body to secrete different types of hormones. These hormones help our body distribute the energy, as well as to make the body cope with an excessive amount of energy loss. All in all, our bodies are very complex and from time to time both creepy and awesome.

This footage occurred on July 11, 2018 in Val-d'Or, Quebec, Canada and it shows us the moment a man’s calf muscle starts cramping hard. This is what the licensor had to say about it all: "I had a cramp during laying on the couch. It was right after playing tennis and it was funny, so I filmed it."

Cramps are a fairly natural occurrence in the human body. They can usually happen after a hard exercise or as a result of the menstrual cycle. They usually pass by themselves but can be quite painful. The main reason for their occurrence is a lack of electrolytes, especially magnesium, sodium and potassium. If one thing is for sure, they sure do look like an alien birthing from inside your muscle.
