Put out (or hit the pavement!) [1969] [funk]

One of my personal favorites. Bucknasty the infamous sax players, more often seen dancing to his backup singers then actually playing. Like great men before (and after) thought his message was best delivered by a group of women from Poughkeepsie NY, just north of NYC. In fact, this location is where most of Bucknasty's musical ingredients come from. At the time of printing, the publishing company refused his request for brackets in the title, so not only have I restored his music, but also his vision for his title. Listen to the 10:30PM soundtrack to the streets of Poughkeepsie in 1969.

[sax]

[verse]
We went on a date.
I consider that PAYMENT.
Life is pay to play
[chorus]
Put out or hit the pavement!
Put out or hit the pavement baby!
Put out or hit the pavement Oohh oooh!
Put out or hit the pavement !!- I heard road rash hurts!

[verse2]
When I paid the gas bill baby...
When I mow the lawn..
They're just little gestures baby...
and they're screaming-

[bridge]
Life is pay to play! So-
[chorus]
Put out or hit the pavement!
Put out or hit the pavement baby!

[sax]

[chorus]
Put out or hit the pavement baby!
Put out or hit the pavement baby!
Put out or hit the pavement ooh ooh !!-
Put out or hit the pavement
I heard road rash hurts!
