Dog chases bear away from peeking over fence

Recently with the heat wave hitting the Vancouver British Columbia area, many are very active in their backyard swimming pools. In the suburb city of Port Coquitlam, Tracey's daughter Tess was enjoying a hot afternoon soaking up some sun atop her pool floaty when she noticed a small young black bear cub up one of the evergreen trees just outside of their property. With the screams from Tess, Tracey came running outside and began recording with her phone camera. The young bear cub had begun to descend from the tree, just when Watson, the family dog came running as well and barking up a storm. All this commotion startled the bear cub, causing it to begin his climb back up the tree to safety. This continued climb caused concern for Tracey as she knew where there is a young bear, there is also a mama bear and they do not want mama in the yard. As we know,a bear in a residential yard is not a welcomed event, and when you have a pool with a vinyl liner, this is definitely not something you want to happen. Tracey had stopped recording so she could get her dog Watson under control and back in the house, hoping the quiet would allow the young bear to crawl down the tree and run off into the forest with mama. All in all it was an exciting afternoon for Tess, Tracey and Watson.
