Israel Continues Its Strikes on Syria's Military Sites as Iran Threatens Israel Over Bombings

Israel has continued its strikes against the former President Bashar-al Assad’s military sites in Syria. Reportedly, it has launched its heaviest strikes in the Tartus region of western Syria in over a decade. Also, it carried out 61 strikes within five hours on Syrian territory. Israel has also approved a plan to increase the population of the seized Golan Heights areas, for which it is set to invest $11 billion. Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has also stated that Israel has no interest in confronting Syria. Meanwhile, Syria's rebel leader Abu Mohammed al-Jolani has commented that Syria is too exhausted for a new conflict with Israel. He also met with the visiting UN envoy, Geir Pederson. The new Syrian government has called for the lifting of sanctions on Syria. The Chief of Iran’s Revolutionary Guard, General Hossein Salami, has warned that Israel would "pay a heavy price" and would be "buried" in Syria.
