Rob Redhead / Street Entertainer and Puppeteer 1999-2015

A video about my time as a puppeteer and street entertainer from 1999-2015. I don't simply refer to myself as a musician because that would deny all of my other abilities, I've always thought of myself as a "creative". Although music was what grabbed me the most from the creative box of things to do, and specifically songwriting which has been a life long obsession.
I have always written and performed music through all of my other creative projects but I only began busking doing music (proper) in 2017. The reasons for this is that I always felt I was too acomplished a musician to end up busking on the streets! so I decided to do puppetry as a way of traveling light, not only that but the amplification technogy didnt exist then as it does now,
I performed music once with a backing track in 2002 but needed a heavy car battery to power the amp.. and realised it was all too much hassle, so I just kept with the lightweight rod puppet act, which was funding my music anyway.
The ability to perform live (anywhere) only became possible for me in 2017 when I discovered the "roland busking amp" which could run all day at loud volume on only eight rechargeable AA batteries, this for myself and others was a gamechanger and that is what I still use today.
