December 14th, 2024 Shabbat-Yai-yish'lach (wrestling for a new life and a new name)

This Shabbat, I shared about Ya'acov having to deal with many issues. When he was afraid of his brother Esav that he would murder him, he had an unusual encounter with God. It is a wrestling match of sorts with whom I believe to be a pre-flesh form of Y'shua (Jesus). This wrestling match changed him forever and he received a new name, the name of Yis'rael (Israel). Every one of us has to experience a wrestling match with God. Our whole salvation experience really comes out of that match.
