Amelia Earhart's Final Take-Off from Lae, New Guinea

This video was provided by The International Group for Historic Aircraft Recovery (ITGHAR), and shows Amelia Earhart's final take-off from the dirt runway at Lae, New Guinea on that fateful day, July 2nd, 1937. Her aircraft bounced off the ground during the take-off, knocking off the antenna that ran along the bottom of the aircraft. The antenna that allowed her to receive radio signals.
