The Lord of the Rings: The War of the Rohirrim is struggling at the box office and media outlets are blaming fans who called the movie woke.

This type of rhetoric is nothing new in current day Hollywood as many filmmakers have decided to pursue identity politics over telling a satisfying story. War of the Rohirrim writer, Philippa Boyens, has said the movie isn’t woke and she just tried to tell a story she believes Tolkien would have told. However, Tolikien would have been well aware of her inspiration and still chose not to tell this story.
