Eye on Calgary Video 1 - Background to Climate Emergency Declaration

This the first video in a 4-part series series that investigates the background leading up to Mayor Gondek and Calgary City Council declaring a climate emergency in November 2021. This includes a brief history of the United Nations (leading up to the 2015 Paris Climate Accord) and how the Young Global Leader, Mayor Nenshi (who was in place prior to Mayor Gondek) initiated Federal influence through its application to Infrastructure Canada's SMART City Challenge. Using only clues provided by the declaration itself, the video demonstrates the relation between the City of Calgary's climate goals and the influence of many global entities.
