Warren Police have released body camera video showing the incident where an officer was attacked by a man accused of robbing a Niles business less than an hour before.

Police body camera video shows the man identified as Erick Rivers swinging a metal pole at a police officer.

Police say Rivers attacked the officer who was responding to a crash at the intersection of Mahoning Avenue and Northwest Bridge Road.

Rivers is charged with felonious assault stemming from the ordeal. He’s since pleaded not guilty in Warren Municipal Court.

A judge set bond at $100,000. Rivers is scheduled to be back in court on Thursday.
